Whether you let one flat or manage a small portfolio, rental income has its own rules. We work out your taxable profit, file your return and make sure you are ready for Making Tax Digital.
What we cover
- Rental income and allowable expenses
- Mortgage interest relief, given as a 20% tax credit for residential lets
- Jointly owned property and how income is split
- Furnished holiday lets and the rules since April 2025
- Capital Gains Tax when you sell a property
Selling a property
If you sell a UK residential property and there is Capital Gains Tax to pay, you must report it and pay the tax within 60 days of completion. We calculate the gain, apply any reliefs and submit the report for you.
Getting ready for MTD
Property income counts towards the MTD thresholds. A landlord with £35,000 of rent, for example, will be in scope from April 2027 even if their profit is much lower.
